2013-01-20

Phono Solar, a global renewable energy solutions manufacturer, and Symbior Energy, a leading energy company which provides investors with means to deploy their capital in the energy sector of emerging markets, today announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement for the development of a 40MW PV project in Thailand. Both two parties agree to develop, design, construct and provide financing channels to this project together.

Mr. Cai Jibo, Chairman of Phono Solar, said, “We are very happy to forge this partnership with Symbior Energy, which delivers sustainable energy solutions that foster growth in developing countries. As co-investor and module supplier, we do hope this project could help us open the gate of Thailand market in renewable industry and even establish the development foundation of the Asia Pacific market.’’

Mr. Florian Bennhold, Vice President Business Development mentioned, “Phono Solar is state-owned company, which means stable and reliable. Their modules have already produced electricity 14% more than design, so I am confident we can reproduce such good performance in Thailand. ”

Following the “BRIC Strategy”, Phono Solar officially penetrated South America market last July. Considering such cooperation as a beginning, Phono Solar entered the APAC from this year. As first phase, the two parties will start with an 8MW project in the year 2013 and 8MW per year was scheduled in the agreement for upcoming years.

Mr. Alex Levran, President of Power One Renewable Energy Solutions Division, said, as we already established strategic partners, we need to ensure our products can coordinate with each other perfectly. This is exactly the core significance of our partnership.
