Phono Solar’s all-black ONYX Modules receive MCS accreditation

2012-04-19

Phono Solar, one of the world’s largest producers of quality monocrystalline and polycrystalline silicon solar modules, today announced its all-black ONYX modules have received accreditation under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). Phono Solar’s DIAMOND (previously: HEC) 250-265W U-Series modules have now also received MCS accreditation together with the F-Series 200-210W modules.

Mariana Hall, Vice President of Phono Solar, said: “Not only does MCS accreditation demonstrate the quality of our ONYX modules to the UK consumer, but also allows us to cater to the current demand in the UK for all-black panels.”

Phono Solar’s ONYX monocrystalline and polycrystalline modules are high performance, aesthetically pleasing all-black panels. High efficiency solar cells are coupled with high transmission textured glass to produce module efficiency of over 16%, which leads to a maximum system output. The modules’ components have ammonia corrosion, salt mist corrosion and fire test certifications, ensuring their suitability for a range of environments. Thanks to the strength of Phono Solar’s parent company SINOMACH (435th among Fortune’s Global 500) the modules are supplied with reliable 10-year product warranties and 25-year performance warranties.

The microgeneration certificate of approval is granted by the BRE after rigorous production process and product performance testing by TüV Rheinland Group. MCS certification is required for solar manufacturers who wish to sell solar modules in the UK market, and for consumers who hope to benefit for government subsidies such as FITs (feed-in tariffs).

Phono Solar’s U-Series 250-265W monocrystalline and polycrystalline, and F-Series monocrystalline 200-210W, DIAMOND modules have also received MCS accreditation.
